This book grew from the Soewil’s Dai Nippon Native private diary and postal history collections , this small collection found from the wife and son of Inmemoriam Soewil ex Chief of Painan Post Office and staf of Padang post office during Dai Nippon Military Administration Sumatra in 1979.
In 1959 I have came to Mr Soewil ‘s House at Padang, but he didn’t want to show and sold his collection, he said you to young to collect stamps, much better to study.
In 1979 his wife and son (also a Padang postman) asked me to help his wife because her house must given back to the owners (during PRRI Rebellion, the Goverment used this house for Post Office employed, Soewil that time the chief of TelukBayur,ex Emmahaven, Postoffice), I help her for the downpayment of a new credit house at Tabing area and they give me all of Soewil Collections ( Dairy,Dai Nippon and Indonesia Revolt document & postal History).
Based on this small collections, I have started to build a unique and magnificent collections around Sumatra, I have meet many trader and collectors like in memoriam Ir Zakir, inmemoriam Gho Kong Liang, Go Go Stamp shop at Braga Bandung, inmemoriam Gazali Nasution, in memoriam Laksmana Suryadarma, Dr Nelwan, Mr Susantio, Mr Suwito, Mr P.R.Bulterman, and I have a friendly correspondence with Mr Ramkema, inmemoriam Mr Tom Bleeker-USA and his Friend Father Frans Siemerink-Palembang, Mr Tjong secretary of Padang’s Gouverment, Stamp shop at Pajak Hongkong and Sumatra antique Shop Kesawan Medan, in memoriam Mr V.Esbensen, Mr Karel- Mr Herry Hutabarat, Mr Arista Jogya and someone from Solo. etc.
