March 2, 2009 by uniquecollection
The complex innovation of Chinese and European printings are unique accomplisments in the cultural and other scientist books.
Antiquarian travel and Guide books are universally the object most sought by collectors especially engraved illustrated books before 1850
As a result of many books were brooken and the engravings sold off separately. This sad practise unfortunately increase the rarity of untampered wit books and hence their value(Miller,1996)
The purpose of this book- based as it is on comprehensive illustratated and fragment and restored collections of the unique Indonesia Books before 1950.
The type and themes of that unique books most intersesting for collector s and investors because they have always made mistake value estimation and the plaque of reproductions that has recently flooded the international market
The problems above, were one of the porpuse to write this books , if the collectors knows the authentics one , the copies can-not grown.
Not many English-language study of Indonesia EthNic and travelling found in Indonesia especially the unique books before 1850 like the book “ the mirror of Indonesia”(Nieuwenhuys, 1999) and “Lexicon the painters who vizualized Indonesia” (Leon Hack, )
Copies of engraved illustrations from the unique books before 1850 provoked international lawsuits.
Near the early XXth centuries many unique books repro including engraved or lithographic printings and manuscript , but the quality of papers and printing much lower than the original ones.
I hope this information will be usefull bycolectors and investors.
The IUC books collection have started during younger boy 15 years old in 1959 during traveling from Padang to Jakarta, middle Java , and East Java seeking the examination tutuitions books and pocketbook story , some Java Historical books.
After that another antiquarian books about Minangkabau ethnic books, travelling books around Indonesia and at least about ceramic, stamps and other collector’s books,
In 1971-1972 during senior medical clerkship in Ciptomangunkusumo Hospital Jakarta and stayed at Selemba Tengah street , every day after practise hours travelling around Surabaya street, Kramat Raya street , Mampang Prapatan street, and Senen Market
Where many old Books flea market.
This antiquarian book’s hunting still progress during Hospital Administration’s Master study while stay in Cik Di Tiro street Menteng where around that area many “Lapak”(small traditional waste papers trade) where we will found many old books with anykind condition like Zoo Street and Middle Salemba street near railways,
The old books flea market still exist at Surabaya street , Kramat Raya at the front of PMI Jakarta and Senen Market , this time the value of the old bookd very cheap between one to ten US dollars (Now all my old book dealers were passed during the years 1996 to 2000 , thank you Old Man for our kind friendship, forgive me because I don’t know your Name
Now the official dealers began growing from the years 2002, like Mr Sofyan in Pasar Baru Museum phillatelic, Mr Nadapdap at Taman Mini/etc., and the value of old books starting up to global price Ten to hundred dollars.
All the Antiquarian books collections with another Indonesian private collections with literature’s study will analyzed in this important books because in National Central Librarian and National Archieved librarian we must pay half dollars per one copy (too expensive for a student) or you must go abroad to Nederland, Germany, France or England to study the history , only can if you have found a schoolarship.
According to the above problems, I asked all Collectors from anywhere in the world to joined IUC program with send information through IUC e.mail www Lilywi@cbn.net.coid to share aor antiquarians books for the student and collectors all over the world free of charge or cheapest books like IUC published.
