This writings grew from a special issue of Indonesia Unique Collection(IUC) 2009.
A galery of the IUC and most unique memorable Wayang & other Java ethnic collections , the issue was hailed by readers, some of whom wrote to suggest the contents should be collected in more permanent form.
Following their advice, IUC published “The Indonesian Unique Wayang & Other Java Ethic Collections” in hardcovers from this years.
The book was a greatly enhanced version that allowing the presentation of many more pictures of the collections and permitting the writers Dr.Iwan S. , comentator Anton J.S. and Photographer Albert S. To expand their informed and insightful survey of their subject.
This first edition of this IUC ‘s book updates the final chapter of the writing to include image that have already achieved the status of contemporary icons : The used of wayang and Java ethnic ephemera as book illustrations , ”The Letters from Palmerah” writing by Ajidarma ,published by Gramedia Popular Library,in 1999.
Readers will find the Mysery, honered and Magic Java Human character in the images collected here- but they will also courage and dedction on the other side of the collector’s or commoner’s eyes.
